Spinning
The grass speeds under me
like a novice magician’s tablecloth
that he did not pull
fast enough.
I fall and roll
down.
At the bottom I stop
but cannot stop
the hill and everything else
from spinning.
Dizziness recedes
and I stand on the grass,
arms outstretched.
I spin but keep my eyes
fixed on one spot.
The body spins, but the head
snaps on its rotating neck to keep
both eyes on the one spot
while the body turns wildly.
This time: no dizziness at all
and I do not fall.

“I fall and roll
down…”
Um humn, I know that feeling…

This is a great comparison:
“The grass speeds under me
like a novice magician’s tablecloth
that he did not pull
fast enough.”
And, the scripture at the bottom brought me to a perfect understanding!
